What kind of world do we want to live in?
Design involves far more than just a good idea. From brainstorming to the production process to the finished product, there are many decisions to be made that go beyond the actual product ideas and their aesthetic design.
Under what conditions production takes place, what materials are used, where production takes place, how far transport routes are, what quality should be achieved …
There are so many questions about a new product. We check every aspect for social, gender and ecological guidelines that are important to us.
Regional:
We prefer to work with businesses that we can reach by bike. The Hamburg soap workshop, the offset printer, a tailor and our screen printer are among them.
Fair:
Appreciation means paying work accordingly. What good is a cheap product without mutual respect for the work of others?
Fairtrade:
Our candles are the only products that are not manufactured in Germany. They are individually moulded by hand from ecological raw materials. We are very pleased that we have found a fairtrade-certified production facility in Indonesia that explicitly helps local women to become more independent.
Social:
In Hamburg and Lübeck, our soaps are made by hand in facilities for people with disabilities. A job that is great fun for everyone involved.
Sustainable:
What is more sustainable than a product that lasts a lifetime?
Perhaps a product that can be used up completely…
We have both and don’t argue with us about quality.
Material:
Our paper products and packaging are printed climate-neutrally in Hamburg, the leather of the lanyards is tanned with natural plant substances, wood for various of our candle holders comes from local forests and is turned on site.
We are delighted to be listed under the title “Ethical Style”. Here you will find producers who fulfil social, ethical and ecological guidelines in the production chain and thus offer sustainably produced consumer goods.
